For over 30 years, Design Specialties has been building fireplace doors in their own Milwaukee manufacturing facility. Every door is made to order and built by hand to ensure a perfect fit. Their doors run the gamut from rustic, hand-finished styles to minimalist, modern designs. While it may seem hard to believe in this day and age, they even have a blacksmith on staff to forge and finish their custom fireplace doors.

Fireplace Doors for Gas Fireplaces

In addition to custom fireplace doors, Design Specialties also manufactures a line of doors specifically for factory-built fireplaces. These are either zero clearance (ZC) fireplaces (pre-built metal box fireplaces) or direct vent (DV) gas fireplaces. Zero clearance fireplaces require a chimney, while the direct vent style can be vented through a wall.

Design Specialties makes a version of their most popular door models for both zero clearance fireplaces and direct vent gas fireplaces. They also have a line of fireplace doors incorporating their Refresh ceramic glass for extra safety with direct vent fireplaces.
